YBBBS Child of the Week: Bobby
When you were growing up, who was the person in your life who went the extra mile for you? Maybe it was a person who showed interest in what was going on in your life. Or taught you to play ball. Or maybe they took time out of their day to spend it with you. That's the kind of person that more than 400 kids at Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters are waiting on.
You can be that role model to a child right here in your own community. Most of the kids in our program live with a single parent or grandparent and just need another positive influence in their life. All it takes is a few hours a month to change a life. Join Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters and volunteer to become a Big today.
Bobby, this week's "Little," is a 15-year-old high school sophomore. He is very engaging and kind. He lives with his grandmother in Chino Valley. It is just the two of them. Bobby's favorite activity is computer programming. He also likes skateboarding, going to movies, playing video games, shooting pool and listening to music. He likes school and is doing pretty well. Bobby doesn't like sports. He's learning to play guitar and likes to fix mechanical things. He likes to hang out with his friend.
Bobby's grandmother thinks that he needs a "Big" to do "guy things" with. Bobby is up for anything and would like to be matched with someone with the same interests as him - especially computer programming.
Join today by becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister to a young person like Bobby. Contact Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters at 928-778-5135 or online at www.azbigs.org.
