Letter: Police association supports Bunker, Schmidt, Tenney, Justice

The Town of Chino Valley has sent election ballots out to registered voters in Chino Valley.  This election has the ability to unify and strengthen this community and continue the process of improving the quality of life we all work so hard to maintain.

The members of the Chino Valley Police Officers Association have the desire to improve the quality and standard of living in this community.  We jeopardize our safety while pursuing this desire.  We do this with honor and the utmost integrity.  We feel that this community deserves the most qualified and professional of leaders.

As we are facing difficult times we have decided to become and remain pro-active in our participation in choosing our elected officials; those persons responsible for sculpting the path this town is to take in the years to come.   To be proactive in this election we sent questionnaires to the candidates running for Mayor and Town Council several weeks ago.  Our desire in this was to obtain insight as to their goals and objectives for this wonderful community.  We wanted to know where they stood when it came to working with public safety personnel to keep this community safe.  Our goal as members of the Chino Valley Police Officers Association is to ensure that all members, visitors, their families and property are as safe as possible.  Most of the candidates responded to this questionnaire.

After careful scrutiny and review of those questionnaires, we have chosen four candidates we feel are most qualified, dedicated and have the utmost desire to work with public safety personnel to keep this community safe.  As public safety officials we know that our jobs cannot be done without the support and help of this community.  That is why our members are endorsing and asking the public to help get Jim Bunker/Mayor, Carl Tenney/Council, Dorothy Schmidt/Council and Robert Justice/Council elected to lead this community.  Together we can achieve this goal, make a difference and keep this community great.

Thank you all and please remember to vote.
