YMCA Activities: Week of July 1

Check out all of the fun activities going on at the Prescott YMCA at

YMCA Gymnastics is a year-round program for beginning tumblers through competitive gymnasts. The Tumble Tot classes are designed for children as young as 18 months. A teen tumbling class and classes for adults are also offered.

Summer Dodgeball returns to the YMCA at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11. Bring your own team of 6 to 8 players or we will find a team for you. Games will be double elimination and tournament style to determine winners in each age category.

The YMCA is offering Coed Tennis Camp from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10. This is a great opportunity for kids 8 to 16 years old to learn basic skills or improve on current tennis abilities. Coach Catherine Low will help kids develop confidence and coordination while having a great time.

Group Swim Lessons are offered for children as young as 3. Sessions are continuing throughout the summer. There are morning and evening classes available as well as private and semi-private lessons.

It's time to register your child in the After-School Child Care program. The after school program is state-licensed and DES-approved for school-aged children through the fifth grade and is a safe, stimulating and fun program for your child while you are at work.

Open Kayaking is from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced kayaker, you can paddle around our pool and practice your skills. Bring your own equipment or borrow ours for the evening.

Join the adventure of the Prescott YMCA SCUBA Development Program. Classes cover the basic skills from the PADI Open Water Diver Certification through the level of Dive Master. The YMCA's excellent diving facilities accommodate all skill levels and all equipment needs. A variety of classes are offered weekly.

The YMCA pre-team swim class will introduce your child to team workouts designed to improve strokes and build endurance. Class is Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 a.m.
