YCSO arrests five for pot in Cottonwood
Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested four young men and a teenage girl on suspicion of marijuana possession Tuesday in Cottonwood.
Deputies booked suspects Edwin Rivera and Jaycen Coldiron, both 21; Brandon Wyrick, 20; and Roy Zellner, 19, into the Camp Verde Detention Center. Officers detained the teen girl separately at Prescott's Juvenile Detention Center.
Rivera was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, involving a minor in a drug offense, possession of a narcotic drug, and sexual conduct with a minor.
Coldiron was taken into custody on suspicion of possession and use of a narcotic drug and marijuana, and an outstanding warrant.
Wyrick was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, involving a minor in a drug offense, and interfering with judicial proceedings for violating probation.
And Zellner was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, prescription medication and use of marijuana.
The teenage girl was also arrested on suspicion of use of marijuana and is on active probation.
On Tuesday morning, sheriff's detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section's Special Crimes Unit said they served a search warrant at a home in the 3500 block of Mohave Lane in Cottonwood after previously obtaining information from sources that marijuana was being used and sold in the residence.
Detectives added that they detained the five occupants in the home and recovered a half-pound of marijuana along with scales, production containers and assorted paraphernalia.
