Rodeo 2009: Prescott Frontier Days - World's Oldest Rodeo Calendar of Events

Saturday, June 27

Arizona Women's Professional Rodeo Association Barrel Racing, time only 4:30-6:30 p.m. and run at 7 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

Monday, June 29

Happy Hearts Rodeo for Exceptional Children, 5 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds. This event Horses with H.E.A.R.T. sponsors for 25 children with special needs who would like to experience rodeo events. They get to ride horses and rope the "steer," tie the goat's tail and ride Wooly Bully.

Rodeo - Daily Courier Night, 7:30 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

Tuesday, June 30

Rodeo - Outback Night, 7:30 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

Wednesday, July 1

Rodeo - Country Bank Night, 7:30 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

Rodeo - Jack Daniels Night, 7:30 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

Rodeo Dance - Family Night, 8 p.m.-1 a.m. at the M&I Bank parking lot at 303 N. Montezuma St. in Prescott. Kids of all ages welcome.

Friday, July 3

Kiwanis Kiddie Parade. Entries should arrive by 8:15 a.m.; judging starts at 8:30 a.m.; and the parade starts at 9 a.m. at Cortez and Goodwin streets between the Post Office and City Hall. Open to children under 12 years of age and pets under 300 pounds.

Prescott Rodeo Days Fine Arts & Crafts Show, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Courthouse Plaza. About 130 vendors will display their wares.

Rodeo - Wrangler Night, 7:30 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

Rodeo Dance, 8 p.m.-1 a.m. at the M&I Bank parking lot at 303 N. Montezuma St. in Prescott. Open to people 21 years of age and older.

Saturday, July 4

July 4th Pancake Breakfast, 6-10 a.m. at First Congregational Church at 216 E. Gurley St. All you can eat pancake breakfast with ham and coffee or juice. Adults, $5; and children under 5 are free. For more information, call 445-4555.

Prescott Frontier Days Parade, 9 a.m. at Courthouse Plaza.

Whiskey Row Boot Race, immediately after the parade on Montezuma. $10 entry fee.

Rodeo Days Fine Arts & Crafts Show, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Courthouse Plaza. About 130 vendors will display their wares.

Granite Creek Vineyards July 4th Celebration, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 2515 North Road 1 East in Chino Valley. Event features catered food, a live band and tastings of organic Arizona wines.

Fourth of July Party in the Park, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in Community Center Park in Chino Valley. Event includes vendor booths, food, beer, a disk jockey, bicycle parade, many games and activities, and swimming at the Aquatic Center. For more information call 636-9780, ext. 7004.

City of Prescott July 4th Celebration, Noon-10 p.m. at Pioneer Park. Free admission. Craft tents for the kids, contests, carnival games plus cool giveaways. Waterslides, bungee jumping, climbing walls, pony rides, bumper boats, spinning gyro, three game trucks where you compete to see who's the best guitar hero or video champ, and much more. Prescott Valley Fourth of July Fireworks, 9 p.m. Mountain Valley Park. Live band performance at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Sunday, July 5

Cowboy Church, 8 a.m., nondenominational church service in the Prescott Rodeo Grounds Grandstand.

Prescott Rodeo Days Fine Arts & Crafts Show, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Courthouse Plaza. About 130 vendors will display their wares.

Whiskey Row Hose Cart Races, 9-11 a.m., Cortez (between Goodwin and Gurley). Usually 5-10 teams from four to five area fire departments. Admission is free.

Rodeo - Coca Cola Day, 1:30 p.m. at Prescott Rodeo Grounds.
