Obituary: Kenneth Wayne VandeBerg

Kenneth Wayne VandeBerg of Prescott Valley passed away June 16, 2009 peacefully from the arms of his loving family to the loving arms of his Lord. Born June 30, 1931 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Ralph and Carrie VandeBerg.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Elizabeth; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Douglas Roberts, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Bob Myers; son and daughter-in-law David and Danni VandeBerg. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Kenneth is also survived by his sisters Harriet, Helen and Vonnie; and one brother Harold.

Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Navy as Chief Petty Officer from 1950 - 1955 in the Korean War. He worked for General Motors for 40 years in his professional career.

His interests were well rounded which included hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

His charismatic personality turned casual acquaintances into life long friends.

He will be loved and missed by his family and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life service in honor of Kenneth will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Chino Valley United Methodist Church, 735 E. Road 1 South in Chino Valley, Ariz. with Military honors provided by American Legion Post #6 Prescott, Ariz.

Inurnment will take place at Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz. at a later date.

The family is being cared for by Heritage Memory Mortuary, Prescott, Ariz.
