Prescott Valley police Thursday arrested two 19-year-old men on suspicion of marijuana possession after a routine traffic stop on Highway 69 east of Mendecino Drive.

Officers subsequently took suspects Roger Young of California and Robert Howard of Bullhead City to the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde.

Howard was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana, involving a minor in a drug offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Young was booked on suspicion for possession of marijuana for sale, involving a minor in a drug offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Around 4:56 p.m. Thursday, an officer with Prescott Valley police's Community Response Team stopped Young's vehicle for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the officer said he saw Howard try to hide what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette. Young, Howard and three boys ages 15 to 16 were in the car at the time.

The officer said Young admitted to having illegal drugs in the vehicle. A search later netted about a half-pound of marijuana in several packages.

Police arrested all three juvenile boys on suspicion of using marijuana. Officers accuse one of those boys of using a dangerous drug.
