MATForce, the Yavapai County Substance Abuse Coalition, is helping area youths enjoy a variety of summer activities through a project developed by the MATForce Partners in Prevention Workgroup (PIP). Thirty-two mini-grants of $250 each were awarded to various organizations for youth activity-based learning projects. MATForce supports youth programming and activities as a way to reduce drug, alcohol and tobacco use by young people.

Cassie Habeck of Northpoint Expeditionary Academy used the MATForce mini-grant to take students on a canoeing trip along the Lower Colorado River.
