Police jail 3 teens, 1 adult on charges they invaded, robbed Prescott Valley home
Prescott Valley Police arrested three teens and one adult Wednesday night on charges they invaded a StoneRidge home and robbed a man at gunpoint.
Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney said the four concocted a plan in which two of them would visit with the victim and the other two would go and rob the residence. While two of the suspects visited with the victim, the other two approached him and the visiting suspects in the garage of the residence. Bonney said the second two covered their faces to hide their identity.
He said one of the teens pointed a handgun at the victim and threatened to kill him. The four demanded his wallet and other items, which he gave them. In an apparent effort to cover up the "visiting" suspects' involvement in the robbery, the teen carrying the gun struck them with it, but did not injure them. The second two suspects took a vehicle belonging to the visiting suspects and left, with the "visitors" following.
The "visitors" got the vehicle back, and then picked up the other two and returned to the area. In the meantime, the victim's mother called 911 and reported the incident. Bonney said a responding officer saw the vehicle in the area and stopped it. While the investigation is ongoing, he said, all of the suspects have made statements to confirm what happened.
Police took the three teens to Yavapai County Juvenile Detention Center and booked them on charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Burglary. The adult, 20-year-old Ryan Donaldson of Prescott, went to the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde, where officers jailed him on the same charges.
