Police find marijuana during traffic stop
Chino Valley police arrested a young man and a juvenile boy from Prescott Valley Monday night on suspicion of marijuana possession.
Officers booked Nicholas Brian Cross, 18, and an unnamed juvenile boy into custody after stopping their vehicle, which police say was speeding through a construction zone.
The suspects will likely face charges for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics for sale. Cross also may face a charge of involving a minor in a drug offense.
During the traffic stop, "Gage," the department's narcotics detection K9, alerted officers to the trunk of the suspects' vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed nearly 2 pounds of marijuana and about a quarter ounce of cocaine.
