Chino Valley firefighters responded to a water rescue the day after Christmas when a vehicle traveling west on Sweet Valley Road became stranded in about four feet of water from the winter storms. No one was hurt and the owner of the vehicle was able to climb into the bed of the truck and wait for rescue.

The fire technical rescue team responded with cooperation from Prescott Fire Department and Central Yavapai Fire District to perform the rescue. Chino Valley Fire District would like to remind the public that trying to drive through washes during flash floods can become very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.
