The Alta Vista Garden Club presented the Sharlot Hall Museum with a donation of $500 on Monday as part of the club's ongoing city beautification efforts.

The presentation was at the museum, with Carol Westfall, Garden Club president; and Herdis Maclellan, Garden Club vice president, presenting a check to John Langellier, Sharlot Hall Museum director; Steve Whitley, museum grounds supervisor; and Terry Munderloh, chair of the museum's Rose Garden Committee.

The museum will use the money to buy new rose bushes for its Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden and for general garden maintenance. The garden, next to the Territorial Governor's Mansion, honors more than 470 women who were Arizona residents before 1912 when Arizona was granted statehood.
