Margie Louise Frasher

Margie Louise Frasher passed away quietly Tuesday morning - five years to the day of her quadruple bypass. She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Verden, Okla.

She spent part of her teen years with her parents, Raymond Jeremiah and Elba Oneta Shofner Shook, in Skull Valley, Ariz., while attending Prescott High School. Later, while attending nursing school in Mesa, she met her husband of 61 years, Nova Clifton Frasher, stationed in the Air Force. They traveled with the Air Force, finishing his 24-year career and raising of children (five girls and two boys).

As a proud, involved 27-year resident of Prescott Valley, Louise was a busy volunteer at the new library, a teacher with the literacy program for several years, a dedicated member of the "Dusty Trails" National Grandmothers Club which supported Stepping Stones and Faith House; she was president several times. She was a starting member of the Prescott Valley Community Choir.

Louise was also very involved in St. Germaine Catholic Church and their many ministries. She was the first song leader. She went on to sing with Mike and Mike and joined several choirs, receiving many accolades for her beautiful voice.

Louise was preceded in death by her daughter, Debby Frasher Lumsden, and her parents, Ray and Elba Shook.

She is survived by her loving family: husband Nova; six children; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz., with burial Monday at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

Sunrise Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Please visit www.sunrisefuneralhome.com to sign Margie's online guestbook.
