MATForce honored its co-chairs Sheila Polk, Yavapai County Attorney, and Doug Bartosh, Cottonwood City Manager, for their leadership, and they will accept the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) award at the National Leadership Forum in Maryland in February.

MATForce, the Yavapai County Substance Abuse Coalition, has been named a "2009 Coalition of Excellence" by CADCA. The Coalition of Excellence Award is given annually to coalitions that have successfully reduced substance abuse in their community through evidence-based strategies and practices. MATForce is one of three coalitions nationwide to be recognized with this award for 2009.
