It is no accident and should not be a best-kept secret anymore that Humboldt Unified School District has a gem of a school out in Dewey-Humboldt.
Humboldt Elementary School has just received its third excelling rating from the state of Arizona. Under the leadership of Principal Cole Young, these amazing teachers teach our children in a caring, nurturing environment. To quote, "The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book." - Author Unknown. Humboldt Elementary is a school with heart.
The school has many programs and resources for their students at every level from special needs to an outstanding honors program. The school teaches the pillars of character: respect, fairness, responsibility, caring and citizenship. These are skills children will use throughout their lives.
The school does not quit at 3:15 p.m. HES teachers, staff and others have worked hard to offer a variety of extra-curricular programs. They include music, seasonal sports, arts, sewing club, Girl Scout Troop 2183 and an on-campus Boys & Girls Club of Northern Arizona.
The best of the best staff is at HES campus. The cafeteria, maintenance, and library crews, para-professionals, the front office ladies, and the school nurse, occupational and speech therapists are all on campus because they love children and want to share their talents with the HES students.
This is my child's last year to attend as the fifth-grade year starts. I want to thank all staff on campus for touching my child's life from kindergarten to now.
