Police make arrests in prostitution probe
PRESCOTT - The Arizona Department of Public Safety and Partners Against Narcotic Trafficking concluded a nine-month investigation with the arrest of a 56-year-old woman on suspicion of prostitution and other offenses.
They served search warrants early Thursday morning, with help from Prescott police and the Yavapai County Attorney's Office, on massage parlors at 623 Walnut and 1385 Iron Springs Road. They also served a search warrant at a home of the business owner in the 200 block of Hillside.
They arrested Jainn Chyun Lan at the time of the search warrants after an investigation involving a criminal organization taking part in prostitution, illegally conducting an enterprise, racketeering and participation in a criminal syndicate.
Police also seized approximately $10,000 in cash and a 2005 Mercedes Benz.
The investigation followed complaints to police from people after masseuses offered them sexual services for what they thought would be a legal massage, according to Prescott Police Lt. Andy Reinhardt. As a result, DPS and PANT conducted undercover operations and surveillances of the businesses to gather evidence to support the arrest and search warrants in the case.
