Women looking for brand-name fashions at affordable prices will likely want to visit Jamie Goeringer and JoAnne Golleher's new store.

Goeringer and her daughter, Golleher, opened Smart Girls Resale Fashion at 6616 E. Second St. in Prescott Valley in December to fill a void they saw.

"We knew it was a really big need, especially for Prescott Valley, and we wanted to create a unique experience for women shopping here," Golleher said.

Their store features lots of gently-used women's clothing options from size zero to 3X.

The selection includes everything from T-shirts and tank tops in the $6.95 price range to suits and name-brand jeans for around $29.95.

Golleher and Goeringer also sell jewelry, belts, shoes, scarves and handbags.

Goeringer said they accept clean, stylish garments to sell on consignment. The original clothes owner gets 40 percent of the sale or a 50 percent in-store credit.

If the items are unsold after 90 days, sellers can either take their items back, or Goeringer and Golleher donate them to the local Arizona Women's Education & Employment office or the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center.

"When women come in, we're going to do whatever we can to be sure they walk out of the door with what they're looking for," Golleher said.

Goeringer said some people are coming in for outfits for cruises and others are stopping in from around the state to check out their clothes.

Golleher said it also helps to have a business that fits into today's tough economic times.

"They're looking for a good deal on great stuff," said.

Goeringer said giving their customers a good experience is key.

"It's really important that they leave with a good feeling because they'll want to come back," she said.

"We want to be their clothing destination location."

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 772-1227 or visit www.smartgirlsfashion.com.
