PFAA Family Theater presents off-Broadway hit 'Cat in the Castle'
Prescott Fine Arts presents a weekend of family theater with "The Cat in the Castle," the off-Broadway hit by comedy playwright Bill Solly.
Debuting in 1974, the show about two stowaway cats in a weird medieval town ran for two years with rave reviews.
Donna Stehower directs this PFAA musical production in which cats Hugo (Caleb Cornell) and Mimi (Sierra Cottle) find themselves in a kingdom ruled by the oppressive Queen Gloria the Fourteenth (Alia Fisher), who has banned cats because of her feline-sensitive allergies.
Hugo employs the help of two children to rescue Mimi, who has snuck into the castle and befriended the phonetically challenged Ptommy Pterodactyl.
Laura Taylor provides piano accompaniment to the musical numbers.
The show features an elaborate stage set and a cast dressed for the dark ages.
Showtimes for "Cat in the Castle" are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11. Tickets are $8.
