News Brief: Trauma intervention needs volunteers
People interested in helping traumatized victims by working with police officers, firefighters, and nurses on emergency scenes can become a certified Trauma Intervention Program volunteer. The Trauma Intervention Program is a group of specially trained citizen volunteers who provide emotional and practical support to victims of traumatic events. Volunteers are called to a crisis by authorized police officers, firefighters, and hospital personnel. Volunteers might assist an elderly person after the death of a spouse, victims of an auto accident, or survivors of a suicide. FREE training will start , Sept 25, in Prescott Valley.
