I commend reporter T.M. Shultz for the excellent Aug. 31 articles regarding the VA Medical Center.
These are among the best written articles I can remember reading in The Daily Courier and it was clear that Shultz did a lot of homework to provide important details and raise several concerns.
This is the kind of information citizens need to know about their community.
My father-in-law is a World War II veteran and has received very good outpatient services from the VA.
However, the concerns the Courier has raised, seemed to be primarily directed at the Community Living Center. Let's hope he will never need services from that part of the hospital until they improve things.
I hope to see a thorough follow-up article including what the VA has done about the issues and get the VA to provide more detail than "appropriate action."
