Local youths conduct POW/MIA ceremony

Youths from local middle schools and high schools will conduct the annual POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday in the Flag Pole Circle at the VA Hospital.

The annual ceremony recognizing the sacrifice and memory of the soldiers who were prisoners of war or missing in action will include a color guard, guest speakers and a musical salute.

Cadet Coleen Gonzales from the Prescott Composite Squadron 206 of the Civil Air Patrol will lead the gathering in the Pledge of Allegiance. Gonzales won a promotion to Airman 1st Class.

Refreshments will be available after the Ceremony sponsored by VA Voluntary Service Committee. Contact Sally Fine at the VA Hospital for further event details.
