Bob and Dolly Nordyke celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary recently with an open house for family and friends.
Married Sept. 11, 1948 in Riverside, Calif. where both had been life-long residents. Their families had settled there in the early 1920s.
After serving in the Navy during WWII, Bob returned home, met Dolly and started a 36-year career with Southern California Edison Co. Yucca Valley, Calif. became home to the Nordykes for 35-years. In 1996, they moved to Prescott to be near their son and his family. A year later their daughter and family also moved to Prescott. This brought the family together permanently for the first time in many years.
Surprise guests at the celebration were grandson Todd Nordyke and great granddaughter Rylee Ann who came from Vermillion, S.D. Other family members are son Greg (Sharon) and daughter Shelly (Frank) Buschbacker. Grandchildren are Todd (Shane), Jeff (Sarah), Autumn (Sandy), Josh, Hans and Erick. Great grandchildren are Zak, Danielle, Taylor, Clark and Rylee Ann.
