Sketching in Stereo is the latest band from the Valley striving for modern rock radio, and their debut EP, "Technicolor Dreams," sounds like a pretty convincing effort.

The six-tracker is lushly produced with big guitars, sparkling choruses and opens with a killer ukulele line.

Fans of Cromwell would love it, and it's currently available on their website, www.sketchinginstereo.com, downloadable for free, or you could go to their show this weekend and probably buy it for really cheap, rock out and get autographs.

They play at Sundance's Place, 116 N. Montezuma, Friday night with American Dali and Psychotic Nerve.

Music starts at 9 p.m. No cover.
