Highway 89 work in Chino Valley will impact traffic
Drivers traversing the Highway 89 construction in the Chino Valley area can expect a number of traffic impacts this week.
Crews will temporarily close Road 1 South east of Highway 89 to install a waterline parallel to Highway 89 and remove the cattle guard. The work will take place during day hours, according to a press release from the Arizona Department of Transportation, and crews will establish a clearly marked detour.
As crews enter their final weeks of waterline work, they will begin to focus their efforts on installation of new storm drains. Work will begin near Road 4 South and continue north through the project limits. This work should not affect traffic, and will take place in ADOT right-of-way.
As part of the Highway 89 widening project, crews will construct a roundabout at Road 4 South to aid in the flow of traffic through Chino Valley along Highway 89. Workers will begin to prepare the area surrounding Road 4 South and Highway 89 beginning the week of Oct. 13. The initial work should not affect the flow of traffic.
