Special to Review

A Prescott Valley woman died Saturday when two vehicles collided in Chino Valley.

Feleshia Brabham, 22, was a passenger in a Dodge Stratus car that a Ford Explorer pickup hit on Highway 89 at about 5:30 p.m.

The accident forced the closure of Road 3 North on the west side of Highway 89, as well as one southbound lane of Highway 89, for about three hours, Chino Valley Police Officer Vince Schaan said.

The Stratus was traveling north on Highway 89 when the juvenile driver tried to turn west onto Road 3 North, Schaan said. The Explorer was southbound on Highway 89 and hit the Stratus on the passenger door where Brabham was sitting.

The Stratus driver was a 15-year-old female who had a driver's permit, Schaan said. She originally was taken by ambulance to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center and then flown to a hospital in Flagstaff, but later was released.

The Ford driver was Kebyn Pistel, 34, who recently moved back to Chino Valley from North Carolina, Schaan said. She was treated at Yavapai Regional Medical Center and released Saturday evening, he said.

The accident is under investigation.
