A Prescott Valley woman died Saturday when two vehicles collided in Chino Valley.
Feleshia Brabham, 22, was a passenger in a Dodge Stratus car that a Ford Explorer pickup hit on Highway 89 at about 5:30 p.m.
The accident forced the closure of Road 3 North on the west side of Highway 89, as well as one southbound lane of Highway 89, for about three hours, Chino Valley Police Officer Vince Schaan said.
The Stratus was northbound on Highway 89 when the juvenile driver tried to turn west onto Road 3 North, Schaan said. The Explorer was traveling south on Highway 89 and hit the Stratus on the passenger door where Brabham was sitting.
The Stratus driver was a 15-year-old girl who had a driver's permit, Schaan said. An ambulance took her to Yavapai Regional Medical Center and then a helicopter flew her to a hospital in Flagstaff; however, she was released later.
The Ford driver was Kebyn Pistel, 34, who recently moved to Chino Valley from North Carolina, Schaan said. She received treatment at Yavapai Regional Medical Center and doctors released her Saturday evening, he said.
The accident is under investigation.
