2 teens, 2 toddlers hurt in rollover crash in Paulden
A teenager driver and his three young passengers went to local hospitals Sunday afternoon after a one-vehicle rollover on Big Chino Road in Paulden.
Chino Valley Fire District Representative Jack Miller said emergency personnel received the call and responded to the accident at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Miller said a Chevrolet Lumina four-door sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on Big Chino Road about 7 miles west of town. The car left the road and rolled several times.
The 16-year-old driver complained of chest pains and difficulty breathing. A Native Air helicopter crew flew him to Flagstaff Medical Center.
The accident ejected a 13-year-old male passenger from the vehicle. Life Line Ambulance flew him to Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
An Air Evac crew flew two toddlers to Flagstaff Medical Center. Miller said a 1-year-old girl showed a depressed level of consciousness and a 3-year-old boy suffered bruising on and behind his right ear. Both children were in ear seats.
Miller said that speed appears to be the cause of the accident.
