Mid-afternoon crash injures driver

A woman drove her car left of center on Gurley Street at the intersection of Virginia Street, side-swiped a vehicle and ran head-on into a Dodge truck Monday afternoon, Prescott Police said.

"She had unspecified medical conditions, which may have contributed to the accident," a police spokesman said.

"She was coming across the turn lane in the middle and she hit my car, then spun around and hit the truck," said Faye Nelson, of Prescott. "I think I'm OK."

Traffic was down to one lane from Virginia to Washington streets for about 40 minutes.

Life Line Ambulance took the driver to Yavapai County Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Two Life Line ambulances, one Prescott Fire Department engine, one Central Yavapai Fire District engine and one battalion chief went to the scene.
