Obituary: Joseph Edward Rebbert

Joseph Edward Rebbert, age 90, died March 13, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada, from complications of congestive heart disease. He and his wife, Jessie lived in Prescott Valley for 22 years, until 2003, when they moved to Las Vegas to be near family.

He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, where he graduated from Loyola College. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in North Africa, India and Alaska. He retired from Wells Fargo Bank in Southern California, then he and Jessie moved to Prescott, Ariz. They enjoyed many years here: Joe playing golf and Jessie playing "fun poker" with her Grandmothers Club.

He is survived by Jessie, his wife of 66 years; and their six children, Jo Ann Richard (Dave) and Stephen Rebbert, all of Las Vegas, Kathie Rebbert, San Diego, Calif., Patti Baker, San Pedro, Calif., Tom Rebbert, Mt. Hermon, Calif., Tim Rebbert, San Francisco, Calif.; grandchildren Cathy Hind (Dave), Ame Bennett, (Troy), Jennifer Chandler, Jennifer Rebbert, Japheth Baker, Travis Rebbert (Allison); eight great-grandchildren; brother Jim Rebbert, Baltimore, Md.; and sister Mary Margaret Woodburn, Shrewsbury, Pa., and her children and grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was Monday, March 17, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Las Vegas, Nev. Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nev. handled the arrangements. Burial will be March 24, 2008, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada.
