Jamie and Joan Fox of Prescott celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 7 at a party hosted by their daughter Juli and son-in-law Scott Burns in Mission Viejo, Calif.
They were married on May 31, 1958, in Rome, N.Y., and honeymooned in Lake Placid and Lake George.
Jamie was a field service representative in aerospace at the time, so they were on the move for several years, including two years in Orlando, Fla., where their first son, Jim, was born. During three and a half years in Germany working on a missile system, they added Juli and Paul to the family.
After returning, the family moved to Jamie's former home in Orange County, Calif., where Jamie joined McDonnell Douglas and Joan worked in juvenile probation at the County of Orange.
When they retired, they moved to Prescott in 1992, and Jamie joined the many other volunteers in the area, serving with several groups including the Noon Lions for the past 10 years.
The gift from their children of a 1959 MGA that Scott and Juli restored in only 10 weeks highlighted the celebration with family and friends. They can now relive the joy of their first MGA, which they had when they were first married.
