Tiny Tot Olympics and Diaper Derby
The City of Prescott's Recreation Division is excited to offer the 5th Annual Tiny Tot Olympics and the 3rd annual Diaper Derby events Saturday, Aug. 16, at Granite Creek Park, open to children 4 years of age and younger. In the Tiny Tot Olympic events, Olympians will compete with children within their own age group. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event. Events are designed to be fun in nature and challenging.
Events Olympians will be competing in are: 40 foot run (2-year-olds), 60 foot run (3-year-olds), 80 foot run (4-year-olds), long jump (2- and 3-year-olds), baseball pitch, soccer ball kick, football throw, and basketball hoop shoot. The cost to enter the Tiny Tot Olympics is $10 per Olympian, and they can register for up to three events.
The Diaper Derby is a crawling event and costs $5 per contestant. Contestants crawl on a mat - not on the grass - to make sure the playing field is fair for everyone. Diaper Derby contestants' parents receive a button.
Both Tiny Tot Olympians and Diaper Derby contestants receive a T-shirt or onesie, a snack and a goodie bag for the price of registration. Parents can register their children for the events at the City of Prescott Recreation Department office, located at the Grace Sparkes Activity Center, 824 E. Gurley St. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13. There will be limited on-site registration available for both events (giveaways are not guaranteed for on-site registrations).
