Smoki Museum to hold annual art and rug sale this weekend

The Smoki Museum will hold its annual Summer Rug and Indian Art Auction Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26.

The event is free.

Friday, an art preview will display items such as pottery, jewelry, baskets, kachina dolls and paintings, beginning at noon. The auction starts at 5 p.m. and continues to 9 p.m.

On Saturday, Navajo rugs such as Ganado Red, Teec Nos Pos, Storm Pattern, Two Grey Hills, and more go on display from 9 a.m. to noon.

Bidding is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m.

Auctioneer Bruce Burnham from the R.B. Burnham Trading Co. will preside as auctioneer, assisted by Burnham family members and Smoki Museum staff to help the public with any bidding concerns.
