Obituary: Bruce Alexander Ward

Bruce Alexander Ward, 59, of Camp Verde, Ariz., died Jan. 17, 2008. He was born June 2, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., to John L. and Eleanor E. (Marcelain) Ward.

Bruce was a retired Master Sergeant of 29 years in the Air National Guard. He was a member of the 191st maintenance squadron based out of Selfridge, Mich.

Bruce spent his last days working for Perez Welding of Camp Verde, Ariz.

He was an avid hunter and a master of the barbeque grill.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kelly Ward of Camp Verde; his brother David O. Ward of Sterling Heights, Mich.; his sister, Edith Richmond of Clinton Township, Mich.; his sons, David Ward of Mesa, Ariz. and Christopher Ward of Camp Verde, Ariz.; his daughters, Joanna Buckley (Chris) of Paulden, Ariz., and Melissa Chapman (Jack) of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at the chapel of Bueler Funeral Home, 143 Arnold Street, Camp Verde. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post #6739, P.O. Box 1528, Camp Verde, AZ 86322, or the American Legion Post #93, P.O. Box 1570 Camp Verde, AZ 86322.
