Robert Joseph Legler, 67, of Simi Valley, Calif., entered eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in Simi Valley, Calif.
Bob was a very loving and caring husband, father and friend. He enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, cooking (which he wasn't too bad at) and household projects.
He was a jokester and had a fabulous sense of humor.
For many years, Bob showed and bred several breeds of dogs, wanting to bring the breeds to their original standard. His love of gardening was only superseded by his love for his family and friends.
Bob was the one that installed the first computerized cash registers that we all see today. When he brought the computers home to program, he used them to teach his children about giving change. Bob's second career was building a successful insurance agency in the Carson and Cerritos areas.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children and their spouses, Debbie and George, Barbara and Bill, Steve and Kelly and Robert and Patty; his stepchildren and their spouses, David, Mark, Dannie and Jonie, Mary and Greg; his brother and wife, Joseph and Maria; 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May God grant him the peace and serenity he so richly deserves.
Services were Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at noon at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, followed by a reception to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the City of Hope or a Mission of your choice.
