Letter: Who's dropping trash, who's picking it up?
I read with some amusement and irritation your article and editorial on trash dumpers.
I have lived in Chino Valley for 30 years. I am 71 and have ridden a dirt bike and done some target shooting in the areas north of Perkinsville Road. When I go shooting I always carry out not only what I carried in but the trash (as much of it as I can) out. When I ride, I ride the trails not off-road. A few years ago I had nothing to do, so I went out just past FT638 to the high pressure gas line because I saw a pile of trash. I drove up and started to load it in my truck when a pick-up pulled up (after watching me at a distance). The elderly driver told me I was on his land and I was to "git off !" I then took the trash I had picked up and put it back on his land as I am sure he wanted it. I no longer pick up trash in the area because I do not want to offend anyone.
I ramrodded the U-Cross Ranch for a time east of Mayer and would have been really grateful if I found someone cleaning up trash on ranch property.
