blood drive

The Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1202 Green Lane, Prescott, is sponsoring an American Red Cross Community Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28.

Donors may schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-448-3543 or online at www.givelife.org. Donors must register the first time with their e-mail address and select a password. The sponsor code is prescott. Follow the steps on the website.

Choraliers plan spring tour

The King's Choraliers, a 32-voice sacred male chorus from Grand Rapids, Mich., will perform in Chino Valley and Prescott on March 7.

They will be at Trinity Christian Elementary/High School, 2010 S. Highway 89 in Chino Valley, at 9:15 a.m. and at Prescott Community Church, 3151 Willow Creek Road, at 7 p.m.

With roots dating back to 1950, the King's Choraliers have been singing God's praises and bringing the good news of Christ's love in song to people across the country. The chorus features a varied repertoire of hymns, spirituals and sacred songs arranged for male chorus. The men come from a diverse background of vocations and not one is a musician by profession. The group represents a variety of skilled trades from painting to masonry, middle management to sole proprietorships.

Film features women in the Bible

The Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive in Prescott, presents "Magdalena: Released from shame," at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22.

The Jesus film project has produced a new version of the Jesus film especially for women. The film describes historical accounts of Jesus' interaction with women through the eyes of Mary Magdalene. By portraying stories from the Bible in which Jesus ministers to vulnerable women, Magdalena displays the compassion and unconditional love Jesus expressed toward them. As women in every culture are touched by the powerful message of Christ's life, death and resurrection, they will understand how much He cherishes each one of them. Mystical Spiritualist meets at Cuppers

Mystical Spiritualist Church will have a spiritual discourse and discussion group meeting 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Cuppers Coffee House, 226 S. Cortez St., Prescott. Rev. John and Martine Kohlenberger presents topics and information of spiritual, metaphysical and scientific value, important to light seekers. Shepherd holds Lenten services

The Wednesday midweek Lenten services begin at 6 p.m. with a meal, followed by the worship service at 7 p.m. through March 12. These Lenten services will continue the letters John the Apostle wrote to the Churches in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey) and their application today. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran is located at 1202 Green Lane, Prescott.

Program teaches

'Love and Respect'

Prescott Christian Church offers an eight-week study based on Dr. Emmerson Egerichs' book, "Love and Respect" from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, through April 10. This study looks at the communication differences between men and women and how to honor God in marriages. The cost is $10 per couple and includes a workbook. "Value-Packed Parenting: Raising Rock-Solid Kids in a Pleasure Driven World," a video-based seven-week study led by Dr. Kevin Leman, is offered by Prescott Christian Church. 'Returning Home' series continues

St. Catherine Laboure Church, 2062 N. Highway 89 in Chino Valley, conducts an ongoing series entitled "Catholics returning home" at 10 a.m. Saturdays, Feb. 23 and March 8 and 15 in room 4 of the Religious Education trailer. These sessions are for non-practicing Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to the church. There will be informal sharing and an update of the Catholic faith. 636-4071.

Melton speaks at Baptist Church

Special guest speaker Brad Melton will be at Robert Road Baptist Church for the 10:50 a.m. service. On Sunday, March 9. The Robert Road Baptist Choir presents "Amazing Love!" an Easter musical celebration on Sunday, March 16.

Mountain Valley Church of God Christ-Centered 12-Step Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program and

Cancer Support Group entitled Redeeming Grace, meets Saturday evenings with a short church service and sermon.
