Four arrested in chop shop operation

Police recently arrested one juvenile and three adults on various charges involving a stolen car "chop shop" operation in Chino Valley, said Dwight D'Evelyn, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office spokesman, in a press release.

Police booked a 17-year-old Paulden boy into the Prescott Juvenile Detention Center on charges of vehicle theft.

They also arrested 20-year-old Angel Alvarez and 18-year-old Lindsay Hazelton, both of Paulden, on charges of unlawful use of transportation.

Police also arrested John Stevens, 32, of Chino Valley, on charges of theft of means of transportation and on charges of conducting a chop shop.

Stevens' arrest came about after Chino Valley police recovered a stolen Chevy truck and traced it to Stevens' home in the 1900 block of Jackrabbit Trail.
