Traffic impacts continue at area ADOT construction projects
A number of Arizona Department of Transportation road projects are under way in the area. This week's traffic impacts:
Highway 89 widening in Chino Valley
Crews experienced unfavorable weather conditions this past week. As a result, business access driveways have been muddy.
According to an ADOT press release, crews will work to maintain these driveways to the best of their abilities during the winter storms.
Crews will be off on Dec. 25, Dec. 26, Jan, 1 and Jan. 2 to observe the holiday season. Traffic control will still be in place at Highway 89 and Road 4 South. After the holidays, crews will resume curb and concrete work near Road 4 South and Highway 89 if weather permits.
Highways 89/69 construction
In observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays, no work will occur Thursday and Friday during the weeks of Dec. 22 and Dec, 29.
Widening operations on the north side of Gurley Street between Sheldon Street and Rush Street are complete. Westbound Gurley Street traffic will travel in the center lane until the installation of new traffic signals at the Gurley Street and Sheldon Street intersection, as well as the completion of the widening of Gurley Street east of Sheldon Street.
A Thursday morning incident disabled the temporary signal on Highway 69 at the ramp to northbound Highway 89. ADOT has shut down the left turn lane on Highway 69 until reinstallation of the signal. Meanwhile, motorists should follow the detour to Prescott Lakes Parkway to access Highway 89.
