Letter: Thief claims ribbons on son's army service

EDITOR:

Why is it that people seem to think they can just take anything that doesn't belong to them? This is the third time I have had the magnetic ribbons stolen from my car.

These aren't just any ribbons.

They are from the 101st Airborne Division ("the Screaming Eagles") of which my son has been a member for several years.

He has been with them in two wars now and is currently deployed. If you are a veteran (and hopefully served at one time with the 101st) then you have my gratitude and are welcome to the ribbons. But if you are someone who is just adding to your collection of ribbons, please respect me enough to leave mine alone and let me continue to show visual support for this proud and historical Division.
