Pickup, ambulance collide at Viewpoint/89A intersection
PRESCOTT VALLEY - Paramedics took two people to Yavapai Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries Friday after a mid-size pickup collided with a Life Line ambulance at the intersection of Viewpoint Drive and Highway 89A.
The driver of the pickup and a paramedic in the ambulance went to the hospital after the crash, Central Yavapai Fire Battalion Chief Brad Davis said.
The accident occurred after 2:30 p.m. Friday while an ambulance was traveling northbound through the intersection on Viewpoint Drive with its lights and siren on in response to a medical call.
Prescott Valley Police Corporal Bryan Snyder said the pickup was traveling westbound on the 89A off-ramp when it hit the ambulance.
The cause of the accident remains under police investigation, Snyder added.
