Farmers Market presents Farm Day on Aug. 16
The Prescott Farmers Market will celebrate National Farmers Market week with Farm Day on Aug. 16 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Yavapai College.
In addition to regular vendors, the market will have baby geese and emus, a veggie car derby, and an acoustic sing-along by local group Beans & Things.
The Prescott Farmers Market runs Saturday mornings from 7:30 until noon at Yavapai College. The Prescott Valley Market runs Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at M&I Bank on Florentine and Glassford Hill. The Chino Valley Market runs Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bonn Fire Restaurant on Highway 89. Each market runs weekly through mid-October.
This year's market offers farm-fresh, locally grown produce; agricultural crafts; gourmet foods; advice from local growers; guest chefs and samples; local musicians; and more.
The Prescott Farmers Market (PFM) is an agricultural cooperative of Yavapai County agricultural producers. The markets are "growers only." The PFM has three area markets. All vendors grow their own produce in Arizona or make their food or crafts with Arizona-grown products.
