PRESCOTT - A car accident at the intersection of Gail Gardner Way and Iron Springs Road backed up traffic Thursday morning.
Prescott Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Jones said paramedics transported a 14-year-old girl complaining of chest and abdominal pains to Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Jones said the other three victims of the crash refused treatment.
The 7:30 a.m. collision involved a passenger car and a work truck, he continued. All four occupants were wearing seatbelts. Jones said emergency crews spent nearly an hour cleaning up the intersection.
He said a fire broke out in the engine compartment of the passenger car, but a bystander put it out with a fire extinguisher. Jones could not say where the bystander got the extinguisher. An off-duty paramedic began early treatment on the victims before paramedics reached the scene.
Further information was unavailable at press time.
