Letter: A successful event

On Aug. 25, a first of many community youth outreach events began. A youth pool party commenced, which included a live band performing contemporary Christian music from both the Word of Life and the Chino Valley United Methodist Church. An IPod was raffled off which was graciously donated by Dewitt Trucking. Last, but by no means least, food was also available, for free, some of which was donated by Pizza Hut and Daily Doughnuts. This was a big hit with the youth.

Not only did about 200 people join in all the fun but charity was also present. A can of food for the community food bank was the ticket in. Three full baskets of non-perishables and $28 were collected and delivered to the Chino Valley Community Food Bank.

The combined efforts with Word of Life, St. Catherine's, and Chino Valley United Methodist Church has created an awesome working relationship. That will, no doubt, offer our community other community youth outreach events.

We would very much like to thank all who donated their time, efforts and food towards this very successful event. There are as follows: Pizza Hut, Daily Doughnuts, Dewitt Trucking, Banners & More, Chino Valley Parks and Rec., and the church families of all the churches involved. Thanks again to all who participated. Your donations were greatly appreciated. We hope you will continue your generosity towards future events.

We look forward to many more of these events and welcome more participants to become involved. The outcome is truly rewarding.
