Kelleher appointed to CVUSD school board
Tim Carter, Yavapai County School Superintendent, is pleased to announce the appointment of Josephine Kelleher, Ph.D., to fill a vacancy on the Chino Valley Unified School District Governing Board. This appointment comes after the recent resignation of Michael Holdsworth who relocated out of the district.
She earned a bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College in science/math and a master's degree in biological sciences from the same institution. She earned a doctorate in 1981 from the University of Connecticut in educational leadership.
Kelleher is a retired educator who taught middle school math and science in Rhode Island and with the Department of Defense in Germany, prior to serving as an assistant principal, principal and superintendent in several New England states. After relocating to Arizona, Kelleher taught for the Kyrene School District for many years and served as the associate director for the K-12 Center at Northern Arizona University where she was responsible for the administration of grants. She is married and continues to serve as adjunct faculty for Northern Arizona University.
Carter interviewed two well qualified applicants for the position on Sept. 17, Kelleher's term began on Sept. 20 and will expire Dec. 31, 2008.
