Henry (Hank) Fremont Ashurst passed away at home on Sept. 22, 2007. He was born July 9, 1925, in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Edward B. and Inez Antona (Morris) Ashurst.

The love of Hank's life was his wife, family and his horses. His passion was the cowboy life. Hank was raised in Klamath Falls, Ore. and he spent most of his adult life in wonderful places all over Arizona, Northern California and Oregon. He served as a Marine during World War II and was shot through the lung on the tenth day of Iwo Jima. Hank met the love of his life, Colleen, at the Prescott VA hospital in 1946 and they were married six weeks later. She preceded him in death May 14, 2003. Hank became a Christian late in his life and loved to pray. He is now with God and Colleen forever.

Hank is survived by his four children, Shireen Eddings (Loyal) of Phoenix, Edward Ashurst (Jean Ann) of Douglas, Laura Ashurst of Chino Valley and Jean Bowser (Ken) of Bagdad; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services in honor of Hank will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at the VA Chapel in Prescott with Military Honors presented by the American Legion Post #6 Honor Guard. Interment to be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
