Obituary: William Barclay Love

William Barclay Love, 92, Ret Lt. Col. USAF, of Prescott, Ariz., formally of East Lansing, Mich., passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2007.

William was born in Indianapolis to Charles Beveridge and Susan Hines Love.

He attended Dennison University where he played football and graduated from Michigan State University in 1937 with a Masters Degree in Forestry.

William raised a family of four children with his wife Marian. He was a sportsman and loved nature, hunting and fishing,

Lt. Col. Love was a veteran of World War II serving in England and North Africa as a navigator of B-17's. He flew 55 missions and remained in the Air Force as an instructor until his retirement.

William is survived by his wife of 58 years,

Marian; and his children, Thomas F. Love (Elizabeth), Barbara E. Featherly (Robert) and Julia R. Garfield

(Brian). He has four grandchildren, Amberianne Buck (Eric), Zackery Garfield (Amanda), Jacquelyn Featherly and Aaron Garfield (Kacy).

He was preceded in death by his son Charles and granddaughter Kimberly Faith Featherly and three great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Las Fuentes Resort Village, 1035 Scott Drive, Prescott.

Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
