Obituary: Antonio "Tony" Alfonso Mena

Antonio "Tony" Alfonso Mena was born on Sept. 3, 1915, in Ashfork, Ariz., and died Sept. 10, 2007, at his home in Prescott, Ariz.

He is survived by his wife Coralyn Mena; his son Dr. Robert Mena (Norma Mena, spouse); his daughters Martha Hoeflinger and Melissa James (Brad James, spouse); grandsons, Tony Mena (Tonya Mean, spouse), Steve Mena (Catrina Mena, spouse), Greg Mena, Brayden James and Darren James; great grandsons, Julian Mena, and Roman Mena; brother John Mena (Irma Mena, spouse); and nephew David Mena (Pam Mena, spouse).

Tony lived a long, fulfilling and selfless life. He has given of himself to his family in so many ways. He loved life, and everything in it. He was a lover of baseball, history, the Grand Canyon and other Wonders of the World. He was a devout Catholic who loved to serve God and saw the hand of God in everything. He was a husband, father, a friend to many and will he will surely be missed by all.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A celebration of life reception will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, also at Sacred Heart Church.
