Accident blocks motorists on Glassford Hill Road
PRESCOTT VALLEY - A crowd of students from Bradshaw Mountain High School watched Tuesday afternoon as yellow-jacketed police officers redirected traffic and a tow truck went to work removing the wreckage of two vehicles from the school's entrance.
At the intersection of Glassford Hill Road and Long Look Drive, a black Hyundai Santa Fe lay on its side near a pile of broken glass and miscellaneous items strewn about, parallel to a white Dodge Neon with a crushed front end.
"It was a two-vehicle accident. We got the call at about 3 p.m.," said Jeff Polacek, Battalion Chief with the Central Yavapai Fire District. "Because the vehicle was rolled over in the intersection, we've had to direct traffic around it. It looks like the white sedan, with its front-end damage, must have struck the side of the minivan, which pushed it over onto its side."
Prescott Valley Police Department officers closed Glassford Hill Road north at Lakeshore Drive. They closed Long Look Drive westbound at Lone Cactus Drive.
"The driver of the sedan was transported by LifeLine Ambulance to Yavapai Regional Medical Center's East campus," said Polacek. "We extricated one person from the minivan who refused treatment and refused transportation to the hospital."
PVPD reopened Glassford Hill Road a couple of hours later.
