New blogs - Christmas, philosophy, and parades

Our bloggers have recently added some brand new blog entries:

- Managing Editor Tim Wiederaenders asks if Christmas advertising is starting too early in his latest blog entry, "Buckle up, the holidays are here."

"I started to see Christmas sections of stores going up two to three weeks ago. That was early to mid-October! They were right alongside the Halloween items and decorations."

- - Reader Vinnie Sorce asks the age-old question - if there's an answer to the philosophies of life and death. Here's an excerpt:

"Yet here I am, why? Philosophy seems to be my own worst enemy recently. The world will never make sense but I’ll continue to spin my wheels trying to make sense of it anyway."

- Online Editor John P. Kamin writes about the pros and cons of dress codes. Here's an excerpt:

"Dress codes on the whole have a multitude of effects. Some specifically target offensive slogans, others limit the amount of skin a student shows, and others attempt to prohibit unwanted behavior. "

- Kamin also writes about why the All Souls Processional was a big hit in Tucson. Here's an excerpt:

"I'm not saying that Prescott needs a big Day of the Dead parade. But, if we continued to learn from events that do well, we could generate a very positive impact on the local economy, improve our community, and have fun while doing it."
