Proposed roundabout could be Rd 4 S intersection's best option
Chino Valley Review
Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) experts are still advising the Chino Valley Town Council to agree to have a roundabout built on Road 4 South (Outer Loop Road to the west). The council heard an ADOT presentation at its meeting this past Thursday night at town hall, asked questions and also heard citizens' concerns about the roundabout, which included signage, pedestrian traffic,
how ADOT would expand the lanes in the future, how trucks and motorhomes would fit in the lanes and more.
ADOT officials explained that the lanes could accommodate large trucks and would keep traffic moving more than a traffic signal.
In addition, a traffic signal does not meet ADOT's intersection tests, called warrants, which include traffic counts at various hours during the day.
